Visitors, Fellowship, and Activities

← Back to The Next Step Visitors and fellowship at The Next Step

The Next Step has had a steady stream of regular visitors over the years, drop-ins for BBQ cookouts, soccer-watching, movie nights, or just dinner and conversation. Night's older sisters, Fai and Sai, are regulars: Fai stays in the cottage some weekends, and Sai recently completed a YWAM Discipleship Training School program and is now on staff with YWAM. Other family members of the guys often turn up unannounced and are always welcome.

Both Gorn and Night spent their high school years at a big Christian dormitory called House of Blessing, and some of their old friends from there still enjoy visiting the ministry house for a less institutional, more homey hang-out. The idea has always been to be more than a residence: a true ministry house where friends of all kinds are welcome.

The house holds a weekly Bible study, worship, and prayer time, with a dry-erase board tracking prayer requests across three categories: the Next Step team, Thailand friends and family, and USA sponsors and prayer partners.

The house sits just off the major highway connecting Chiang Mai to northern Thailand, about 10km (6 miles) from the heart of the city. The lease has gone up slightly over the years, but it's been renewed each time given how much everyone loves the house, the half-acre property, and the location.
