The Next Step house was Bob Bowling's own house in Chiang Mai, opened up for young adult tribal people to have a Christian home-like environment in which to live. Their normal choices were either to remain at a high school dormitory program, often with grade-school kids running around too, located out in the suburbs far from university or workplaces, or to live in small apartments in cheap areas of town known for partying, drugs, and recreational sex, certainly not a wholesome Christian environment.
The house at times had up to six people living there, and when this page was written it had three: Gorn, Petro, and Kaow. Wit was on the team too, but was doing a year abroad at a university in China. Up to 28 students and young adults were impacted by this ministry.
The property was on one "Rai" of land, which is about half an acre. There was a four-bedroom house with a huge living room, a wonderful front porch area, and a nice kitchen. There was also a blessing of a "cottage" house with two bedrooms (one very large), each with its own bathroom. Rent ran about $600 a month for the property, with manageable internet and electric bills on top, and a lot of work went into improving the place over the years.
